Are we in the Last Days?

Yes there are many signs which tell us that we are in the last days. If God wills we may be one of those lucky ones who will be able to see Jesus Christ the King Coming to this earth the second time with our own eyes. Even if He is not coming in our lifetime, the moment we die the very next thing which we would be aware of is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. We must all realize now that In a very short time we all are going to see our Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t you think then it is time to get prepared? Preparation means transforming our Character to Christ like. If we need to be Christ-like then we may need to our life’s and leave all things which is not Christ-like.
In Psalm 1:2 it states that a righteous man meditates on the Law of God all day and night; Now what are we filling our entire day with? Is it with the Law of God? OR with other Entertainment stuffs? Let us examine our daily routines to find what we are filling our life with?

The Chart below tells the activity of most people in a day (i.e. 24 Hours of the day).

In the chart above we notice that the Personal Time which we have with God is only 1 hour which will include our morning and evening devotion but God wants us to meditate on his word 24 hours which means that even when we are working in office OR Sleeping; God wants us to be obedient to his laws. Being obedient (i.e. following) his laws means we are meditating on his laws.
Today let us focus on the entertainment aspect and how much it affects all our other daily routines. There could be a situation where the time we spend on entertainment may be affecting OR pulling us away from God in all our other daily routines. In today’s world situation most of our entertainment is contained within TV i.e. Television, movies and it’s related items.
Am I going to tell that Television is bad!! No Television is not bad, God has given us good brains to invent new technologies which are helpful to God. TV Ministry is one huge ministry, infact God has said that before he comes the second time the Word of God has to be preached throughout the world and TV is helping us to do this effectively, also TV helps us in getting to know the latest happenings around the world. So never am I going to tell that TV is bad, in fact TV is the best thing to have if it is effectively utilized but unfortunately most of us should agree that we use TV for general entertainment. We watch movies, Soap operas, Evil advertisements etc
So what has TV done to the world??

Surveys on Television
Here are few outputs of few surveys undertaken in US and other countries, even though most of these surveys are in US it is very much applicable to all countries

• 58% of people surveyed believed that too much cursing is shown on TV
• 50% said that too much sexual content is shown on TV
• The survey also said that the Average time a small kid spends on TV is 4 hours a day
• Also children spend more amount of time on TV in any other activity other than sleep
• 44% kids said that they watch something different when parents are not there
• 65% says that popular cartoons encourage kids to disrespect parents
• Witnessing repeated violent acts can lead to desensitization and a lack of empathy for human suffering

According to a study done by American Psychiatric Association our Kids are becoming disobedient and aggressive by being exposed to increased violence in TV. They say that by the age of 18 a U.S. youth would have seen 16,000 simulated murders and 200,000 acts of violence.
Scientific study on children tells us that children younger than 8 years cannot uniformly discriminate between real life and fantasy/entertainment. They quickly learn that violence is an acceptable solution to resolving even complex problems, particularly if the aggressor is the hero.
These are the stuff told by surveys, which means these are the things which are happening in the world, Now let’s see what the Bible tells us

What does Bible tell about Television programmes?

During Old Testament period Israelites repeatedly denied God, went against God’s commandments, many times they wanted to return back to the Egyptian life, a life of Idolatry, and finally they denied Jesus when He came to this world. Now is it happening again???? God is coming again, but what are we getting ourselves influenced? Cares of this World? Spending double to triple the time spent on God in front of TV, watching movies, singing unwanted songs, watching unwanted comedies. Are we wasting our lives? Are we getting so influenced by this world that we are preparing our hearts and also the hearts of our Children to deny Jesus and his commandments?
Do you believe that God will still take you to heaven even if you continue watching TV Serials, movies, comedies, dances and songs? How many of your character will become Godly character by watching all these movies and Soap Operas (i.e. TV Serials)?

Before we decide let us see what God says about these fables shown in TV and movies

I Timothy 4:7 “But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto Godliness”
In clear terms God is saying us to be away from these old wives fables.

Psalm 97:10 it says “…… Ye that love the LORD, hate evil….”. Does this verse not clearly tell us that if we love the LORD we will hate evil. But TV Serials and movies make us to love evil because it is not the villain who does evil stuff but the hero for e.g. all our hero’s tell lies, they kill, they commit adultery. All movie stars are married but in movies and TV Serials they enact intimate scenes with different woman. Aren’t we able to see through God’s eyes and realize that it is pure adultery!

We may give reason that we are just seeing all this just for fun and pleasure and not participating in the act, but hear God’s word on it
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness" —2nd Thessalonians 2:12

If we have pleasure in anything which is unrighteous then we all are DAMNED.

Many times even after receiving clear instructions from the Lord to avoid evil, we tell that it is ok with the Lord. For us all hero’s in TV and movies are good people and we like them. But what does God say

"Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD..." -Malachi 2:17

Let us not anger our Lord by calling adulterers, liars as heroes.

God has another huge warning for those who keep watching these Soap operas (TV Serials).

“For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,” 2 Timothy 3:6

Can it be that the verse above is referring to TV also? Nowadays TV is so common at all houses. There are high chances that it can be utilized by the devil because Paul warns us exactly about it. Paul has especially given this warning for people living in the last days. Are we not on dangerous grounds? Are we inviting satan to be our guests daily? Has satan got into our households? You decide about it?

• Is TV stopping you from having deeper relationship with your mother, father, husband, wife, children?
• Is TV stopping you from having a meaningful Morning worship and Evening worship?
• Is TV feeding you with Satan’s gifts before you go to bed?
• Is TV making you lose eternity?
• Is TV taking away the time from you, which you could have spent teaching your children about God’s commandments?

Are you becoming a friend of this world???? If we are friends of this world then we are enemies of God that’s what James 4:4 says.

Not only are we going away from God, we are dragging our Children along also.

In regards to children let us see what Instruction God has given us to grow them?

Deut 6:7 “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”

Does not the above verse tells us to teach our children the word of God when we walk, when we sit, when we go for a walk actually any time and every time.

Are we doing this now? How many parents can stand up and say that I am doing all as per what God commanded? If we are not instructing our Children about this; Remember on the day of Judgment you will have to answer to God the reason of why your Children lost his eternal kingdom.

In today’s world many young children and adults alike have filled their life with satanic music and songs. there morning alarm is a unbiblical song, they get ready to school with some stupid songs in the background, they travel to school/office with MP3 players jamming their favorite hits through a head phone’s. Even after reaching school/office they discuss about movies and TV, and the moment they are back home; they tend to relax in front of the TV.

What are we doing to our beloved kids? Do you want to fry them in hell??????

The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” But nowadays we train up our child to watch TV programs; a one year old child’s baby sitter is the Television. If a 5 year old child is troubling us then we switch on TV and ask them to watch a so called good Children’s movie.

Do you know how much dangers are there in these children movies? Here let me show an example

Doesn’t it resemble Timnus; Yes our Children movies director have modeled Timnus exactly as the image above. Do you know who it is? It is Pan, the Greek Sex God

Now I would like to ask the producers of the Children movie; what is a Sex God doing in a Children’s movie? Are you permitting your children to watch a movie which has a Sex god in it?
Are we not guiding our child to hell? Beware God will come and judge you.

Since we are training up our children in the ways of Satan, they grow up to be disciples of Satan. Let’s read Romans 1:28 – 31
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful;”

Don’t we see that most of the youngsters of today’s world falls in the above categories as clearly given in the Bible? Do you agree with me? Don’t you realize that the characters explained in Romans 1:28-31 is what is magnified in movies and TVs and projected as heroes and villains which we enjoy.

You may argue that in most movies Good wins over Evil, but you should also note the way which Good wins over evil, almost 100% of the times Good wins over evil by doing more evil. And is there any movie or serial which after watching we say “Praise be to the LORD and savior Jesus Christ”. No never do we feel like saying that because all movies are actually directed by Satan.
Now read Romans 1:32 "Who KNOWING the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, BUT HAVE PLEASURE IN THEM THAT DO THEM."

Watching/ reading/ listening to these things is having pleasure in them that do them.  The bottom line is we are having pleasure in sinners who are sinning.  This is an abomination to the Lord Jesus Christ!  Galatians testifies AGAINST the evil works that professed Christians ENJOY on TV
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall NOT inherit the kingdom of God." -Galatians 5:19-21

NOW what are we supposed to do?

Let’s see what God expects us to do Read Philippians 4:8 “Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise think on these things”

Does this verse not tell is clearly what is our job? Anything we do it should praise and glorify God. Definitely watching TV Serials does not glorify God.

Let’s look at another verse in Ezekiel 20:7 “Then said I unto them, cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the Lord your God”

Now let us reword this verse by replacing “idols of Egypt” with “TV & Movies”

“Then said I unto them, cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with TV & Movies: I am the Lord your God”

This verse was told to the Israelites they did not obey and God punished them severely, Now are we also going to disobey God?

Let us all change, let us all spend more time with our Lord and pray just like David.
David prays in Psalms 101:3 “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes….” Let us also not set any wicked thing before our eyes

In Isaiah 33:15 and 16, it tells that only those “…. who shutteth his eyes from seeing evil ….” Only he shall “dwell on high” that is only he will dwell with God. Don’t we want to be with God???? Deny evil to your eyes, stop watching TV Serials and Movies

If we all are wise, we will hear the words which we have heard today and as King Solomon says in Proverbs 22:3 “A prudent man forseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished”. Will you hear this warning today?

Again in Psalm 119:37 it says “Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity;” the Bible is full of warning of the evils of these last days. We only need to hear God’s word

God has given us so much verse about our Eyes being kept away from evil. Here is another verse which tells us why God is so concerned about us not using our eyes to see evil

Matthew 6:22-23 : "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!"

Romans 12:2 : "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will."

And finally 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 : "Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil."

Now are you prepared to get 100% marks on your report card? Yes to make a beginning stop watching TV Serials & Movies and unnecessary stuff on TV.

Do not have any doubts WE CANNOT GO TO HEAVEN BY ADJUSTING OURSELVES TO THIS WORLDLY LIFE & ENTERTAINMENT. THERE IS NO WAY WE CAN REACH INTO HEAVEN BY WATCHING TV SERIALS AND WORLDLY MOVIES. TV and MOVIES ensure that we surrender to satan our entire daily activities; this is one of the main reasons why there are so many spiritual songs which are in the tune of a secular satanic song.

Surrender yourself and your time to God and He will lead you to His Kingdom.
