The Bible is not just a book about God but rather the inspired word of God. There are over 3000 places where the Bible says, “The Lord said”. The Bible claims that it truly is, the Word of the Living God! It is the most widely circulated book in human history. The word “Bible” comes from the Greek word ‘biblios’ meaning books or scrolls. The Bible, though regarded as a Book, is in fact a library of sixty-six volumes. The Bible is divided into two parts--the Old Testament consisting of 39 books and the New Testament consisting of 27 books.
As you can see, the Bible was written by different authors, from varying backgrounds, in different generations, in different circumstances, in different places and in different styles. Even though, the Bible addresses some of the most controversial topics such as life after death, origin of life, end of the world etc. there is an astonishing unity and oneness in the teachings of the Bible. A careful and honest study of the Bible reveals that it cannot just be the work of men. What we have today as the Bible, is not just the ideas of men but rather is a compilation of God’s word. The divine origin of the content of the Bible and its amazing preservation and compilation can by no means be denied by an honest searching heart.
The Bible through the Ages
During the dark ages, the Bible was strictly restricted to the clergy. But the reformation made the light of the Bible available to everyone. Many tried to destroy the Bible while many others stated that the Bible will be outdated in just a few years, but the Bible continues to be a light that cannot be put out.
Absence of evidence is not Evidence for absence:
Many have claimed that we cannot trust the Bible because we do not have any other records of the events depicted in the Bible. But in reality, the opposite is true. Here are some findings which testify to the authenticity of the Bible.

The Shape of the Earth"
"It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in" (Isaiah 40:22  ).
The Earth is suspended in nothing:
"He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon
nothing. "(Job. 26:7).
The Stars are Innumerable:
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be (Gen. 15:5)
The Hydrologic Cycle i.e the water cycle " He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them. "(Job.26:8).
"For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly."(Job. 36:27-28)
"The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits. 7
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence
the rivers come, thither they return again. "(Ecclesiastes 1:6-7 , NIV).
The Bible is not a book based on science, but when it does speak scientifically, it always is accurate.
